Lentil Walnut Vegan Mincemeat

This is a perfect alternative for those who don't like to consume mock meats.

Made from simple and incredibly nutritious ingredients - lentils and walnuts!



  • 1 x tin lentils (drained and rinsed well)

  • ½ cup walnuts (toasted- optional)

  • ⅛ tsp garlic powder

  • Pinch ( ⅛ tsp) of ground cumin

  • Salt & Pepper

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce


  • 1 tsp tomato paste

  • Hint of garlic powder

  • Hint of onion powder


  1. Heat a pan on medium heat and place walnuts in a pan to toast for a few minutes

  2. Combine all ingredients in food processor 

  3. Add oil to pan, place mince in the pan and cook until heated through and browned - use in place of mincemeat for recipes such as pasta sauce, taco fillings etc.
