I stumbled upon the concept “Ikigai” and really loved the whole idea of it.

“Ikigai” is a Japanese concept that means "a reason for being".

One hundred centenarians and supercentenarians in Ogimi, Okinawa were interviewed to understand their philosophy and secrets of longevity - the authors developed their ten rules of ikigai to:

  5. Get in shape for your next birthday.

  6. Smile.

  7. Reconnect with nature

  8. Give thanks.

  9. Live in the moment

  10. Follow your ikigai.
